Alyssa O’Brien, Scholarship Chair

Alyssa is a junior majoring in Computer Science and double minoring in Physics and the Multidisciplinary Design Program (MDP). She is a project lead for M-HEAL, where her team is prototyping a medical device. She also works as an instructional assistant for Engineering 101. She aspires to become a software engineer and is currently interning with Amazon. She loves to run and is running a half marathon in October.
Katie Barlow, Leadership Chair

Katie is a junior double majoring in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology, and Political Science as well as minoring in Statistics. She is an undergraduate researcher in Dus Laboratory of Nutrigenomics, studying the effects of dietary sugar on gene expression in the brain. She is also a member of Michigan’s Club Swim and Club Running teams. Katie plans to attend medical school and either work in science/healthcare policy or practice medicine in underserved communities. She’s also run four half marathons and loves the NYT Crossword.
Katie Ream, Fellowship Chair

Katie is a junior majoring in Physics and minoring in Music. She is a part of the Society of Physics Students, is involved in physics research here, and plans to get a PhD in high energy particle physics. Katie is also a member of the Women’s Glee Club and fun fact, she has perfect pitch! Beyond her studies, she enjoys trying new coffee shops and hanging out with her friends in the arb.
Nicole Guibord, Fundraising Chair

Nicole is a senior majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Computer Science. She is involved in research through Michigan Medicine and volunteers at the hospital. Nicole enjoys sharing her passion with prospective students as a campus tour guide. Beyond school, she loves horseback riding and scuba diving. Fun fact: Nicole’s been on TV!

Risa is a senior majoring in Economics. She is involved in the Propel Business Club and aspires to do management consulting in NYC. She works for LSA Operations and Facilities during the school year. Fun fact: Risa loves Taylor Swift.
Simran Patel, DEI Chair

Simran is a junior majoring in Public Health. She is a part of the Indian American Student Association and the Victoria’s Secret Pink Campus team. Simran would love to enter the healthcare industry in the future and plans on volunteering at the hospital this summer. She enjoys piano, art, photography, and reading. Fun Fact: She played golf in high school!
